Things I Can't Quite Explain

After more than thirty years of exploring Healing, energy and spirit, there are still things I don't have an explanation for. I rather like it that way.

Years ago, I found myself running around a huge wooden garden table with five other women.

This wasn't some peculiar new exercise regime. We were table tipping.

My lovely friend is a very talented medium and, for a while, she ran a psychic circle. We did readings, séances, experimented with mediumship and tried all sorts of things that I'd probably struggle to explain to someone who had never experienced them.

The table was one of them.

It was a huge, heavy, circular wooden garden table, about ten feet across. Six of us stood around it with our index fingers resting lightly on the surface, and we asked spirit to come in and move the table.

And then it started moving.

At first it tipped from one leg to another, but before long it was spinning so quickly that we were running around the table trying to keep up with it. Eventually, we couldn't even keep our fingers on it.

And yes, I know exactly how that sounds. 😂

I also know I was there.

I can't tell you what made that table move. I can't prove that something unseen was responsible for it, and

I'm not particularly interested in trying to persuade you that it was.

I can only tell you what happened.

And I've collected quite a few experiences like that over the years.

I wanted to find out for myself

My fascination with Healing, energy and spirit began more than thirty years ago.

I was very much in love with the idea of miraculous hands-on Healing. I read about healers such as Harry Edwards and Betty Shine and was fascinated by what might actually be possible.

At the same time, I was interested in mediumship. Back then, I desperately wanted proof that there was something after this life and that the people we love don't simply disappear when they die.

So I went looking.

It was actually that same friend who introduced me to the College of Psychic Studies in Kensington. I went on to do a faith healing course and a couple of mediumship courses there.

I sat in psychic circles. I did readings. I had psychic drawing readings. I experimented. I learned Healing. I experienced things for myself.

Some of those experiences gave me answers. Others gave me even more questions. And perhaps surprisingly, after more than thirty years, I'm still asking them.

Some things I feel differently about now

My understanding of Healing has changed enormously since those early days.

I don't only think about the place that hurts anymore. I'm interested in the whole person — their energy, what they've been experiencing emotionally, what's happening in their nervous system and what might happen when they finally have an opportunity to settle and receive.

I've lived with fibromyalgia on and off for around thirty years myself, and that has inevitably been part of my curiosity about the relationship between what we're experiencing emotionally and what happens physically.

But I don't pretend to have a neat answer for all of it.

I'm still fascinated by physical Healing. I'd still love to experience one of those extraordinary, seemingly miraculous healings for myself.

And I'm still experimenting with energy, sound and different ways of working.

The difference now is that I don't feel I have to know exactly what's happening before I'm allowed to be curious about it.

There are some stories I've hardly ever told

The table is only one.

There was the time I sat about three feet away from my friend while she was doing transfiguration and watched what appeared to be another face and shape form over hers.

There are things I've experienced through Healing.

There are dreams that haven't felt like ordinary dreams.

There are moments involving people I've loved and lost that have left me wondering exactly where the boundary between here and somewhere else might be.

Some of those things I have very definite feelings about and some I still don't know what to make of.

And I thought perhaps it was time I started telling you about them. Not because I want to convince you of anything - quite the opposite.

I'm much more interested in the conversation we can have when none of us has to pretend we know all the answers.

So over the coming weeks, I'm going to share some of the things I've experienced through Healing, energy, mediumship, intuition, dreams and the slightly stranger corners I've wandered into over the years.

We'll see where it takes us.

And I'd really like you to be part of it.

Have you ever experienced something you still can't quite explain?

Maybe it happened during Healing, in a dream, around someone you loved, or perhaps you simply knew something without knowing how you knew it.

You don't have to decide what it meant. You don't even have to believe it was anything unusual.

Just think about what actually happened.

What did you experience — before you started trying to explain it?

And if you have a story you'd like to tell me, I'd genuinely love to hear it.

I won't ever share your story without asking you first.

with love
